About Us

Timaru United Sports Club is the joining of two of Timaru’s long standing football clubs Timaru City AFC and West End AFC which also manages Star Junior Cricket.

The two clubs have always held the same values in sport, and during discussions about how best to provided sporting experiences for our members it was clear that we had the same goals and ambitions.

To enable us to attain these goals it was clear a larger sports club would be needed to facilitate this and it was decided that a merger of our two clubs would be the best option and so the idea of ‘Timaru United Sports Club’ was born.

Timaru United as it is simply known strives to provide the safest and best possible sporting and club experience for our members, from those who wish to play socially to those wishing to attain the highest levels in their chosen sports and those who want to support from the sidelines, we hope that Timaru United will be the starting point for great achievements.

The Timaru United name was chosen to show the unity of the two founding clubs coming together and to be welcoming to any future sports code that may wish to find a home with us.

Our new Logo and Crest (Right) brings together important aspects of what Timaru United stands for. The two stars are for the founding clubs, in the center of this is the TU letting indicating the merging of two clubs and also the intermingling of new clubs and sports codes. The lighthouse shows Timaru United as place of safety for our members, built on a solid footing with light beams expressing the importants of the past and also shinning a light to the future as a guide for our members in their sporting and social journey.
